Blanche Daniel Obituary

Celebrating the Life, Love and Legacy of

A Woman of Great Faith and a Servant of the Most-High God

Deaconess Blanche W. Daniel

Blanche Daniel was the oldest of seven children born to Toney and Willie White in Winnsboro, Louisiana.  She was a Christian who loved the Lord and dedicated her life to His service.  Her spiritual journey began at Second Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Louisiana.  It continued for over sixty years at the Saint John Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California, where the late Reverend Dr. James A. Brooks was Senior Pastor and is now under the leadership of the Reverend James A. Brooks, II.  She served as Deaconess President, member of the Missionary Society, and Bible studies teacher.  Blanche strongly believed that only what you do for Christ will last; this was evident by her service to her church and the fact she pursued a deeper understanding of God's word, earning a Diploma from the Los Angeles Bible Training School.

Blanche received a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Upon completion of her degree, she did an internship at Freeman Hospital (later named Howard University Medical Center) in Washington D.C.  When she completed the internship, she returned to Southern University as an adjunct professor teaching Food and Nutrition courses.  Once she established her career, she returned to school.  She earned her Master's degree in public administration from the California State University at Dominguez Hills and a Bible Diploma from Los Angeles Bible Training School.

Blanche had a successful career as a Clinical Dietician, starting at Cedars Sinai and later transferring to Harbor UCLA Medical Center.  After years of distinguished service, she was elevated to become the Director of Food and Nutrition, a position she held for 28 years.  She was then promoted to Special Administrative Assistance, where she remained until retirement.

She as married to her high school Sweetheart, Deacon James D. Daniel, Sr., in a union that produced three sons and lasted 65 1'-/2 years until he answered the call of the Lord to come home on Tuesday May 14, 2019.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Blanche departed this life for an everlasting life, where she would be reunited with loved ones and friends.  Her husband, son Kelvin, parents, and sister Ernie Fay Shepard preceded her in passing.

Her cherished family survives her:  two sons, James and Kenneth, and their wives, Edna and Vela; four grandchildren, James III, Dominique, Keiana ad Chante; siblings, sisters Beaulah Green, Dorothy Bouie, Vera White and Tonetta Cameron; nieces, nephew, and a host of relatives and friends, including her Saint John Baptist Church Family.

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,

This is the legacy we have from you.

You TAUGHT US LOVE and how to fight

You gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard o in.

And in your heart, you were ALWAYS KIND.

You fought for us all in one way or another

Not just as a wife not just as a mother

For all us you gave your best.

Now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace, you've earned your sleep.

Your love in our hearts, we'll

ETERNALLY KEEP
